Artist Bio Ron Stocke’s painting career began over 20 years ago in the Yakima Valley. Capturing the landscapes of the Yakima Valley taught Ron techniques that he has developed into his recognizable style. Over two decades later, Ron currently lives and paints with his artist-wife, Ursula, in Everett, Washington. Moving to Seattle in the late nineteen-eighties, Ron looked toward the Puget Sound for his inspiration. There he began his career as a nautical artist. While seascapes and marine art remains Ron’s primary subject, recently his focus has been drawn towards urban landscapes and the beauty of architecture. Whether it is the downtown streets and alleys of Seattle and Portland, the historic architecture of London, or the beauty of the Irish countryside, Ron continues to challenge himself with new subjects. Traveling to Europe and Mexico has given Ron an abundance of material and priceless plein air painting experience. “Traveling has enriched both my life and my artwork more than I could have imagined, I plan on doing both for as long as I can”. |
Artist Bio Ursula was born and raised in Alaska. Her family moved to Minnesota where Ursula earned a BFA in Illustration and Fine Art from the College of Visual Arts, in St. Paul, Minnesota. Ursula received invaluable experience early in her carrier as a theatrical set painter. In 1995 she moved to the Pacific Northwest. Dividing her time between Seattle and Portland, Ursula eventually settled in Everett, WA. The Human figure has always been the center of Ursula’s work, using oil and watercolor as her medium. From studio gestures to finished poses, Ursula is intrigued by the beauty and movement of the human form. She finds the same freedom and energy with her floral paintings. Ursula’s new series of floral paintings are larger than life using color, scale and perspective to draw the viewer in. Ursula has been involved with local galleries, Studio Art gallery in Everett, Park lane Gallery in Kirkland and most recently Gallery 110 in Seattle and Solovei gallery in Everett. She has exhibited in both the Edmonds and Everett art festivals. In 2003 she was a guest artist in the local 14 women’s art League annual art exhibit in Portland, OR. She has been involved in the Cascade Aids Project for several years along with the MONA art auction in LaConnor, WA. Her work has also been included in the Portland Street of Dreams tour and been published in catalogs and purchased by collectors throughout the United States. |
